The
package comprises a complete tour on the Napo River via motorized
canoes (visits to museums, an island with free roaming animals,
gold washing, native ceramics, workshop, etc) and treks to the untouched
rainforest.
A fleet of motorized canoes is available and a Jungle Lodge that
is located two hours down the river from Misahualli, on the Misahualli
- Coca route, offering exceptional panoramic views.
The cabins comprising the Jungle Lodge are typical, built of chonta
wood, traditional wood and two meters high thatched roofing, complete
private bath (with ceramic accessories) for every room, permanent
running water and solar energy lighting. The lodge is complemented
by a dinning hall, provided with kitchen, stroing space and sand-
filtered water.
The treks into the jungle take between two hours within the premises
of the Lodge and up to four and nearly eight hours (on the other
side as the Napo river) on the way to the Sumaco volcano, never
leaving the untouched jungle. Treks along the river are combined
with rafting (on rafts made in situ) and paddle canoeing.
We have engaged natives guides who are quite knowledgeable on the
ways of the rainforest and its medicinal plants, as well as jungle
survival skills.
